She {Hearts} Crane’s DROP Humidifier

004 My son, Jayden, suffers from Eczema. Often times at night, he’ll wake up itching, needing me to soothe his skin with shea butter. Humidifiers have been proven to alleviate the condition, so hubby and I agreed to consider placing one in his room. The folks at Crane offered to send us the DROP humidifier in orange. While they have a wide assortment of humidifiers from traditional to adorable animals, I opted for the DROP – a modern choice for Jayden’s “big boy” room. The DROP happened to be 1 of 5 finalists for the International Housewares Design Award! Cool huh?

Out of the box, the DROP is pretty much ready to run. It’s made of 3 pieces; a mist nozzle, tank, and basin. The nozzle can be twisted 360 degrees to direct mist in the direction of choice. A dial in the front of the humidifier allows for adjusting the flow of the mist. The tank holds 1 gallon of water and can output 2.1 gallons of moisture output per day in a 250 sq.ft room. The DROP humidifier consumes little energy and automatically shuts off when the tank empties.

We love the DROP humidifier. It looks great in Jayden’s room and is pretty silent. In the photos, you’ll see that the humidifier is placed on a short dresser. We have since moved it higher away from toddler reach since he can’t keep his hands off of it!

Important Cleaning Instructions: Bacteria can collect in sitting water. It is very important to clean humidifiers properly. Empty water basin (which connects to power cord) and water tank daily. Disinfect weekly with 2 Tablespoons of white vinegar and ½ gallon of fresh water. Let solution sit in water basin and water tank 30 minutes. Rinse to remove vinegar smell.

I like the Frog Cool Mist Humidifier. Also, I didn’t know these helped with eczema. My son is 11 and has had it all his life and nobody has every told me this so I hope I win and if not I’ll have to get one anyway if it helps relieve his itchy skin.

I love this humidifier…I typically hate humidifiers because they are so ugly but I would love to have the drop humidifier in pink for my daughter’s room. She is 2 months old and a couple of weeks ago got a viral infection and really needed the humidifier. I wish I would have known about this one!!

We have the Crane Elephant humidifier in the nursery and love it. I haven’t seen the Drop version. I think I would choose the Drop in green or orange and put it in my son’s new room. Awesome give away.
