She {hearts} Bentwood Rings by Stout Woodworks

by Drea - Co-Owner on August 16, 2011

bentwood
Back in June this year, I photographed one of the most amazing weddings!

One of my favorite things about a wedding, besides the obvious – are the details. All these beautiful and yet sometimes very small touches are so fun to capture.

IMG_9783-2copy-2
The Bride and Groom’s wedding rings are one of those details.

IMG_9332copy
As soon as I saw Jessie (My June Bride’s) wedding band for her husband, I was instantly intrigued. It was by far the most unique wedding bands I had ever seen. What made it even more amazing was when I held it. Virtually weightless yet amazingly strong and durable.

My husband has wanted a new band for some time now. Neither his or my wedding band fits anymore. We had debated getting our rings tattooed, but when I discovered these rings – my mind was changed!

My husband is now the proud owner of a beautiful handcrafted Bentwood Ring by Stout Woodworks. I want one for myself come anniversary time :)

What I love about this ring, besides the obvious beauty. Is the company it comes from.

I love being able to spread the name of a Family operating business. Knowing that the product I am purchasing is hand crafted with great pride and passion.

None of our products are mass-produced. Instead, each item is carefully constructed using traditional tools and techniques.

{heart} It

So if you are in the market for a unique, durable – beautiful yet very affordable wedding band – shop Bent Wood rings by Stout Woodworks. You can even buy matching sets for husband/wife!

Bent Wood Rings may be purchased off their etsy shop.

Feel free to email them via their website as well.

I love this idea, especially after discovering the ethical and justice issues surrounding Africa’s gold and diamond trade. Finding a fair-trade, beautiful, affordable ring is awesome. I like the Wavy Zebrawood ring.

I love these rings, it reminds me of the wedding ring my husband tried to make for me. He used tagua nut. It only lasted a few weeks, the tagua nut is not made for daily washes. Oh well. We ended up getting our rings tattooed. I love the wide tapered walnut.

My favorite ring that I saw (for me) would have to be the Ziricote Bentwood ring. Ever since I was a small child, I’ve been in love with Ziricote and my very first ring actually had Ziricote in it. So that in itself would make having one so so special to me.

117 Jessie Faucette August 18, 2011 at 6:52 am

Well, I think it is pretty obvious I am a fan, considering I am the “june bride” who found the site and ordered the ring above for my husband. He loves the outdoors, and when I found this site I knew that I had found his wedding ring. He loves his band, and considering he has NEVER worn a ring, he found it easy to get used to because it was so light.
On the site, there is not one ring I can comment on, but there is one wood they use that I LOVE….the rings with zebra wood. They are so unique and beautiful…the grain is so distinct. I think it only fair that the bride get one too :)

147 April August 20, 2011 at 5:13 pm

Our anniversary just came and went in July, with an intention of gifting one another new wedding bands ~ we were unable to find ones we liked. I think you may have just solved this problem for us!

I’m so excited to go check out their selection.

I’ve “liked” both pages on FB ;D

148 April August 20, 2011 at 5:24 pm

I have surfed the Etsy shop & found the one ::
http://www.etsy.com/listing/54954667/hawaiian-koa-bentwood-ring-handcrafted

I should also include, part of the reason we were having a hard time finding a new set of rings is because my husband is a Fireman. His metal band caught on a handle during a call and he has since stopped wearing it due to the concern of injury. I think these wood bands are a much better option!

I love how they have the different woods, one inside the other, together and the rings that have the stone inlay. My favorite was the Ziricote Bentwood Ring with Offset Turquoise Inlay.

167 Alicia C. August 23, 2011 at 10:35 pm

Oh, I love these! My wedding ring is a cheap, glitzy, fake-diamond-studded piece of ugliness. I don’t know what I was thinking! I haven’t been able to wear it since my little guy was born almost 3 years ago because the giant “stone” scratched him. I’d love to have this simple, beautiful hazelnut ring!
I really like the Santos Rosewood Bentwood Ring w/ Mother of Pearl inlay!

A wedding ring made out of wood is something I never considered but they are beautiful, all the ones I’ve seen are.

Indian Rosewood Bentwood Ring With Koa Inlay- Handcrafted Wooden Ring is my absolute favorite ring. I am actually allergic to all metals, gold, silver, platinum, so I am excited to try these woods…maybe I can finally wear a wedding band!
