She {hearts} Toddle Green

Potty training is serious business.  Okay, maybe not that serious.  But I do feel like there are many choices that need to be made in how, where and what to potty train with.  With lots of advice and opinions from family and friends, I decided to let Baby C lead the way.  I chose to forgo the bribery (which I hear works wonders) and replace it with encouragement and praise.  And when it came to deciding on what kind of potty to use, that was a tough decision.  I wanted her to be independent and able to sit on the potty herself.  I wanted her feet to be grounded so she could push out her BM’s.  But the thought of cleaning out the stand alone potty grossed me out.  Until I came across Toddle Green.

Toddle Green provides eco-friendly, flushable potty liners that fits all potty chairs with removable bowls.  The potty liners are made from water-soluble, 100% bio-degradable, non-toxic material that is sewer and septic safe.  The liner provides a protective barrier so waste can be removed easily and flushed without having to clean and sanitize the potty each time.  My daughter has yet to actually do her business in her potty seat, but she has come a long way from not wanting to sit on the potty with her bare bum, to asking to sit and go potty without a diaper on.

The liner fits perfectly on my daughter’s Nuby potty seat.  And we flushed a liner down the toilet to see it in action.  It flushed with ease, just like toilet paper (maybe even better).  My husband and I are no longer afraid of when she actually does do her duty.  We’ll be super excited to use the liners.  And as for my daughter, she loves sitting on the liners.

Using the Toddle Green liners is very simple too.  Open the box and fit a liner over your clean, dry potty bowl.  Place the potty bowl back in the chair and then once the liner has been used, lift and flush.  It just can’t get any easier than that.  You can purchase a box (30 liners) of Potty Liners for $11.95 at ToddleGreen.com Stay connected with Toddle Green on Facebook and Twitter.  Toddle Green is giving away a box of liners to one lucky reader.  Fill out the Rafflecopter form below to enter!

She {hearts} Tea Collection

Faithful readers of She {hearts} It already know how much we love Tea Collection around here! Tea Collection offers beautifully designed children’s clothes that you will find yourself reaching for over and over again!

My girls have been sporting items from Tea Collection’s Fall 2012 line, and they get so many compliments on the adorable dresses! I love all of the fun colors, patterns, and prints that Tea Collection offers each season. I’m particularly fond of the Nordic Design this season.

Dresses paired with leggings offer the most versatility in my opinion, since you can buy one pair of leggings which coordinate with several different dresses or tunics.  Dresses also seem to fit longer, so I love investing in quality, beautiful dresses for my girls, knowing they will be able to wear them for quite a while (as shirts/tunics, if not as dresses)!

I love how lovely yet wearable Tea Collection’s children’s clothing is.  My girls romp and play in the dresses (in hay bales, no less!), but even after repeated washings, the outfits still look wonderful and maintain their beautiful colors.

She {hearts} Wittlebee

The company I am about to tell you all about, is genius. I was excited to learn about them months ago and got to work with them. Trying out one of their hand selected boxes for little Owen (age 2).

That company is Wittlebee.

IMG_2788How often in life are we in situations where we honestly can’t get out in shop for our children. May it be hectic work schedules, sickness, bed rest due to a hard pregnancy or you may even be a single dad who just has no idea what to dress your kids in :) – there really are many situations where this service would be so handy.

Wittlebee‘s allows you to create a custom box through a short questionnaire on their website, that suits your kids style and size. You can choose the colors you love (or your kid loves), what items you really need more of and so on.

It was a lot of fun to do and we love the items they sent little Owen. The gym sweat shorts he has on in the photo are some of our most used shorts now. Perfect for him :) The shirt also has become one of our favorites. We also really love this gray and white striped shirt. It goes with so much.

She {hearts} Scripture Lullabies

There are often two types of music in my car at any given time: (1) “me” music and (2) “kid” music. As a mom of four little ones, the “me” music is rarely heard (unless I am driving by myself) since the “kid” music is always on!  Can anyone else relate?

Well, if this is a dilemma in your car,  keep reading because I have a CD that solves the problem! I have found “kid” music that I love and choose to listen to even when there are no kids in the car! Scripture Lullabies features beautiful, classical music, with accompanying words that are straight from Scripture.  So, not only is the music soothing and peaceful, but everyone listening to the music is learning Bible verses without even knowing it! That’s a WIN-WIN in our family :)

{heart} It

IMG_6701After downloading the CDs onto my vans’s hard disk drive, the Hidden in your Heart CDs have resided in the kids’ CD players: one in Nathan and Natalie’s room, and one in Samuel and Samantha’s room. Each night, the CDs get turned on and are played on repeat through the night. If I happen to forget, Samuel is quick to point out that the “usik” is not on. The kids LOVE their music, and so do I.

Even now, as I type this post, I can hear the music coming from their rooms. As they sleep peacefully, the words to the songs are reminding them of God’s love, God’s grace, and God’s plan. I have children who sleep peacefully through the night, who wake up in good moods, and who know the words to the songs (and therefore Scripture verses) without the effort of rote memorization!

Here’s another testimony from the Scripture Lullabies website about the influence of their music:

“This powerfully peaceful music is helping children sleep soundly, free from nightmares, while also providing some much needed peace for mom and dad.  It’s the perfect baby gift but as you listen, you’ll understand why so many adults are buying their own copy or several to give as gifts to friends and family members.  One out of every 10 “Hidden in My Heart” CDs is donated to Pregnancy Resource centers around the country, so by purchasing this CD, our customers are blessing more than just their own family.”

She {hearts} Vivobarefoot

Photobucket
PhotobucketOver the past few months I’ve been discovering the benefits of being barefoot.  I find that working out barefoot is so much easier on my body, and I don’t lose my balance like I do in shoes.  So when I look at footwear, whether it’s for myself or my kids, I want to have something that is as close to barefoot as possible.

Vivobarefoot
sent a great pair of shoes for Rowan.  The Neo Kids Velcro from Vivobarefoot are exactly what I was looking for.  Rowan loves them, although he seems to have outgrown them very quickly… he has grown over an inch in the last couple of months, so it’s no wonder his shoes don’t fit either!  I’m looking to get him another pair soon.  He says they are great for running, and he was super excited to be able to wear them for playing sports at school.

These shoes are super flexible to provide the best for your child’s feet.  If you’re looking for a shoe that will allow you to feel the ground beneath you, you will want to give these a try.

She {hearts} Baby Banz

Baby Banz LogoThis spring I started looking for a great pair of sunglasses for my toddler for the summer. We go on lots of walks as a family, visit the park on occasion, and hope to spend some time at the pool and the beach this summer, so I knew finding a cute pair of shades for her was a must.

I discovered Baby Banz Ultimate Banz and knew they would be perfect. They strap on (they are adjustable with Velcro) so they stay on even with lots of running around. They are quite adorable and come in two cute colors: flamingo pink and pacific blue. The lenses are polarized and they have a comfortable silicone nose and brow piece.girl wearing pink Baby Banz sunglasses
